Charlie Chaplin [Charles Spencer Chaplin] was born in London, England on 16 April 1889 and died on Dec 25, 1977]. He was one of the greatest and widely loved silent movie stars. His principal character, "The Tramp" (known as "Charlot" in many countries) is worldwide famous. But more than an actor Charles Chaplin was a pioneering film author.
