Charles Darwin born 200 years ago

Charles Robert Darwin (b. Shrewsbury, England 12 de Fevereiro de 1809 — Downe, Kent, 19 de Abril de 1882).

Dwin was an English naturalist who realised and demonstrated that all species of life have evolved over time from common ancestors through the process he called natural selection. At the age of 51, Charles Darwin had just published On the Origin of Species.

Today, Feb, 12, 2009 is The Academic Freedom Day.

On Charles Darwin's 200th birthday (February 12, 2009), students everywhere can speak out against censorship and stand up for free speech by defending the right to debate the evidence for and against evolution. Let's make "Darwin Day" 2009.
