António Correia de Oliveira e Mário Quintana dois grandes poetas da língua portuguesa nasceram em 30 de Julho

Em 1879, neste dia 30 de Julho, nascia em S. Pedro do Sul o poeta António Correia de Oliveira. A sua poesia quer patriótica quer religiosa é de inspiração popular.

Convictamente monárquico, transforma-se num dos poetas oficiosos do Estado Novo, com inúmeros textos escolhidos para os livros únicos de língua portuguesa do sistema de ensino primário e secundário. Talvez por isso lembro-me ainda de alguns excertos de poemas que constavam da Antologia da Literatura Portuguesa que em tempos de estudante era adoptada para o ensino de Português.

Foi o primeiro Português a ser nomeado para o prémio Nobel e a própria concorrente vencedora, Gabriela Mistral, declarou publicamente, no acto solene, que não merecia o prémio, estando presente o autor do «Verbo Ser e Verbo Amar».

Faleceu em Belinho, Esposende em 20 de Fevereiro de 1960, onde viveu aliás, desde 1912.

Em 30 de Julho de 1906 nasceu Mário de Miranda Quintana em Alegrete, Rio Grande do Sul. Um grande poeta brasileiro que dedicou-se também à tradução nomeadamente de Marcel Proust (Em Busca do Tempo Perdido), Voltaire, Maupassant...

É o poeta das coisas simples. Despreocupado em relação à crítica, faz poesia porque "sente necessidade", segundo suas próprias palavras. «A sua poesia é caracterizada pelo humanismo, intimismo, coloquialismo, uma diáfana ternura melancólica, subtileza, sugestão e magia».

Benfica perdeu com o Al-Ahly e a jogar assim...

Depois do jogo do centenário do Cluj da Roménia o jogo do centenário do Al-Ahly no Egipto. As mesmas esperanças antes do jogo. As mesmas desilusões e maiores preocupações ainda depois deste jogo.

Não se trata de um jogo mau, de um jogo que corre mal, de azar. Antes fosse isso. Trata-se de uma filosofia. Este sistema (que sistema?) não funciona. A duas semanas de jogar a pré-eliminatória da Liga dos Campeões o Benfica é uma equipa banal. Sem velocidade, sem capacidade psicológica, sem extremos, sem organização ofensiva.

A primeira parte foi dominada pelos africanos que logo aos 4' tiveram mais um tónico: um penalty muito duvidoso (para não dizer inventado pelo árbitro egípicio) que Shadi Mohammed transformou. Mas a verdade é que só aos trinta minutos o Benfica criou perigo num remate à meia volta numa diagonal de Bergessio muito bem defendido pelo guarda redes egípcio. Depois ainda um rodopiar de Cardozo com remate de pé esquerdo a proporcionar mais uma grande defesa.

Na segunda parte com as substituições em ambas as equipas o Benfica melhorou. Deixou de haver dois trincos (saiu Katsouranis) entrou Rui Costa. O Benfica parecia postado em alterar o resultado e conseguiu-o, jogada pela esquerda, Rui Costa levantou para uma assistencia perfeita para Nuno Assis igualar. O Benfica estava por cima tinha tudo para ganhar... mas esta equipa tem problemas sérios de concencentração. Brincadeira na defesa Zoro não afasta, Nelson ainda faz pior e coloca a bola para isolar um adversário (Honsi) que face à saída (em falso) de Quim fez o 2-1 aos 63'.

Um golo incrível ainda pior que o 2-2 de Cluj, mas repete-se a história, acumulação de erros infantis. Depois a perder, a tónica do jogo inverteu-se outra vez. O Benfica sem qualquer capacidade de reacção e a não mostrar o que andam a fazer nos treinos. Como é possível desperdiçar 3 pontapés de canto sem criar perigo? Manuel Fernandes e Rui Costa directamente para fora e depois um marcado curto para se perder a bola pela linha lateral sem pressionar sequer a defesa adversária?

O problema do Benfica não é de jogadores... é de mentalidade e de filosofia! Quanto à saída de Simão, isso é para outras análises, mas sempre se diz que grande parte do dinheiro do Simão já foi gasto para comprar dois argentinos e um americano... sendo que, pelo menos um Fernando Santos já foi adiantando que era para ser emprestado... enfim!

A equipa de Leiria sofreu muito para garantir presença na segunda pré-eliminatória da Taça Uefa pois aos 90 minutos de jogo o resultado era de zero a zero conservando os sérvios a vantagem de um golo da primeira mão. Os leirienses depois de uma primeira parte fraca apertaram mais no ataque na segunda e aos 81' Paulo César rematou de cabeça à barra. Já em tempo de compensação Éder marcou a favor dos leirienses estabelecendo o empate na eliminatória e levando o jogo para prolongamento.

No prolongamento pensou-se que os visitantes poderiam sentir mais a componente psicológica de um jogo que esteve quase ganho, especialmente quando Laranjeiro de penalty, aos 97' fez o 2-0. Porém os sérvios reagiram e também de penalty apontado por Bogic voltaram a ficar por cima da eliminatória estavam decorridos 107'. No entanto, Songou, que fez uma boa exibição, a três minutos do final «deu» a eliminatória à equipa da casa, confirmada ainda no minuto 120' através de outro penalty por Laranjeiro depois de falta indiscutível sobre Songou.

Sektoui goleador confirmou triunfo começado por Postiga

No Estádio do Bessa apresentava-se o Boavista mas foi o Porto que fez exibição convincente demonstrativa da riqueza do plantel portista. Com praticamente uma equipa de reservas, destacou-se a estreia do argentino Mariano Gonzalez. Foi nele aliás que nasceu o primeiro golo portista ao executar o centro da esquerda que sobrevoou um dos centrais boavisteiros permitindo a Postiga a conclusão de cabeça aos 23 minutos. Os homens do Bessa não se deram por vencidos e ainda na primeira parte ficaram dúvidas num lance na área portistade eventual falta de Paulo Emanuel sobre Linz que se preparava para finalizar de cabeça. Pediu-se penalty mas o árbitro não atendeu.

A segunda parte foi jogada com mais velocidade reentrando o Porto com cinco alterações que todavia não alteraram o seu melhor jogo colectivo, nascendo de uma boa jogada de entendimento ofensivo o segundo golo do Porto, com o cruzamento de Jorginho a ser desviado de cabeça para a assistencia que Tarik Sektoui aproveitou.

O resultado veio ainda a desnivelar-se mais numa jogada de contra-ataque em que o mesmo Sektoui surgiu pela meia esquerda e foi até ao fim rematando cruzado e batendo o guarda-redes axadrezado.

Um resultado que dá o triunfo ao Porto de modo claro ainda que se possa argumentar que por números exagerados se anotarmos um remate de Diakité à barra.

Seja como for Jaime Pacheco tem muito trabalho pela frente para formar uma verdadeira equipa pois é grande o número de entradas e saídas relativamente à última época que aliás esteve longe de ser do agrado dos adeptos.

Quanto ao Porto vê-se que mesmo com jogadores que não são das apostas de Jesualdo (Postiga e Tarik são jogadores frequentemente falados para sair do clube) tem um modelo de jogo já solidificado e continua a ter o favoritismo para a conquista do campeonato, principalmente agora que com a saída de Simão o Benfica queimou parte da mais-valia que conseguira com a contratação de Cardozo.

Noutro jogo da noite que serviu para a aptresentação do Sporting (e ao qual não assistimos)o Sporting não foi além dum empate a um golo frente ao Recreatuvo de Huelva com os leões a marcarem primeiro já nos últimos minutos por Carlos Paredes aos 84' mas a sofrer o empate de penalty aos 88' (Pongole).

Amanhã joga o Benfica no Egipto com o campeão africano El-Ahli, equipa treinada por Manuel José.

Spain revalidated the European title under 19 in football beating Greece with a single goal scored at the first half (38') by Parejo.

Spanish team is the first to defend sucessfully the title and now they won four of the six editions of the U 19 event.

Were the Greeks by Mitroglou and Ninis to fail the first chances to open the score (Mitroglou had also failed a penalty on groups phase against Spain in an ashamed match) but at minute 38' the midfielder of Real Madrid Daniel Parejo put Spain in advantage.

Greece kept Spain pressed back but they didn't have art to beat the spanish goalkeeper Sergio who did nice saves and maintained his net unviolated.

So, Spain added the U 19 trophy to U 17 crown they won in Belgium less than three months ago.
