International Day for the Preservation of Ozone Layer

United Nations General Assembly resolution 49/114, designated 16 Sepptember as the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer (See here). Since 1995 the International day has been observed in commemoartion of the signing of the Montreal Protocol.

The theme adopted for this year is «Celebrating 20 years of progress in 2007»

The commemoration around the world offers an opportunity to focus attention and action at the global, regional and national levels on the protection of the ozone layer.
