World Turtle Day is a day to celebrate turtles and examine ways to enhance turtle conservation efforts, as turtles in the wild are increasingly threatened by a variety of pressures. One threat to wild turtle populations, unfortunately, includes the pet trade. Turtles can be wonderful pets but need a great deal of care and dedication.
