Lisbon Expo 98 - As the time goes by ...

«The oceans — a heritage for the future» (Os Oceanos - um património para o futuro) was the theme for this universal exposition in Lisbon, Portugal. That was a major event where 155 countries were present there. Expo 98, the last World Exposition of the millenium was officialy inaugurated on 21 th May in Lisboa. The Exposition opened on May 22 and was closed on September 30th by the President of the Republic Jorge Sampaio. The Exhibition has had as key piece the oceans, considered a world to discover and, in addition, an important natural reserve, highly necessary for the survival of the human race.
