Uefa Cup Semi-Finals - Espanyol (almost) in Final

Espanyol

3-0

W. Bremen

[Moisés 20', Pandiani 50', Coro 88' ]

Big surprise in Montjuich with the Spanish team has gotten an excellent advantage of three goals which looks enough to pronounce the presence of the Benfica's executioners to their first Uefa Cup final. With 1-0 at the end of the first half, and after Pandiani scored his eleventh goal in Uefa Cup of this season, Wiese (Bremen's goalkeeper) was dismissed after a fault over Temudo.

Espanyol near the end scored the third goal and that can be decisive to the challenge, in spite of Hurtado and Pandiani will be out (both booked) on the second leg in German.

Osasuna

1-0

Sevilla

Soldado 55'

An header by Roberto Soldado, ten minutes, after the restarting, was enough to Osasuna defeat the Uefa Cup holders. This is a fair result and leaves Sevilla to have the lead next Thursday if they want to retain the title won last season. Anyway with these results is expected to have two Spanish teams in Glasgow to play the final.
