Vasco da Gama Bridge opened on 4 April 1998

The Vasco da Gama Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge in Portugal, opened on 4 April 1998 - shortly before Expo 98. It crosses the estuary of the River Tagus between Sacavém and Montijo, near Lisbon. At 17.2km it is one of the world's longest bridges.
