CAN 2006: Egypt and Senegal qualified to semi-finals
Egypt 4-1 DR Congo
After only 15 seconds the Congo captain Lomana LuaLua had the game's first shot, a curling effort that did not miss the Egypt goal by much. Ahmed Hassan by penalty, opened the score and the veteran Hosam Hassan double the lead. Before hal-time the Egyptian defender El Saka put the ball inside his own net deflecting Cyrille Mubiala's shot.
Just before the hour Emab Moteab scored Egypt's third, with his third of the tournament, with the protests of Congo's players claiming that Zaki had used his hand in the build-up, but the Gambian referee Modou Sowe was having none of it.
Ahmed Hassan's free kick has given an exagerated expression to the score, but the qualification of Egypt is deserved and corresponded to the awaiting favoritism.
The other semi-final was close and Senegal have beaten Guinea for 3-2. You can follow the link to obtain more information.
