Taça Intercontinental : Once Caldas - FC Porto

ANTEVISÃO

No próximo domingo disputa-se a final da Taça Intercontinental entre a equipa do FC Porto (vencedor da Champions League 2003/2004 ) e a equipa do Once Caldas, equipa da Colombia, vencedora da Taça dos Libertadores da América (venceu nos penalties o Boca Juniors depois de 0-0 e 1-1).

O jogo tem lugar no Estádio Internacional de Yokohama (Japão).

As expectativas de ambos os lados são de ambicionar a vitória, sendo que o FC Porto pretende bisar o título alcançado em enquanto que a Colombia tem pela 1ª. vez um representante a disputar esta competição.

Depois da excelente vitória frente ao multimilionário Chelsea que permitiu no último momento a continuidade na Champions League, anmoral da equipa não pode ser melhor, não obstante a investigação em curso sobre alegada corrupção que envolve o seu Presidente, ao mesmo tempo que comanda a classificação da Superliga portuguesa não obstante o seu comportamento irregular.

Quanto ao Once Caldas, equipa praticamente desconhecida em Portugal , e cujo historial não tem comparação com o do FC Porto, venceu no último jogo disputado na Colombia em 28/11, por 1-0 a equipa do Tolima, no Quadrangular A da Copa Mustang II 2004, terminando com 2 V 1E 3D e 5-10 em golos . O melhor goleador do Once Caldas é Herly Alcazar.

Importa, contudo, não subestimar este adversário, sendo que muito importante será a adaptação dos jogadores às condições metereológiocas e à diferença de fusos horários. No entanto, também neste aspecto não se descortina qualquer vantagem especial da equipa colombiana a nãos er o facto de ter chegado mais cedo ao Japão
O árbitro será uruguaio; Jorge Larrionda foi designado para apitar a 43ª Copa Intercontinental.
