Song of Peace : Yitzhak Rabin morreu há quinze anos

Shir.mp3

Shir Lashalom: Song Of Peace
Yair Rosenblum, music and Yaakov Rotblit, lyrics
Morgen Ames, soprano
Kam Raiselis, mezzo-soprano
with the women of Amare Cantare

Deixa o sol nascer
E a manhã oferecer a sua luz,
A força da mais pura oração
Não nos trará de volta.
Aquele cuja vela foi apagada,
E foi levado pelo vento,
Uma lágrima amarga não o acordará
E não o trará de volta.
Ninguém nos traz de volta
Da morte ou do sofrimento
Aqui, nem a vitória nos serve.
Nem cantos de salvação nem uma oração
Então cantem, cantem um canção pela paz
Não sussurrem uma oração
É melhor cantar uma canção pela paz
espalhada aos quatro ventos

Deixa o sol entranhar as flores,
Não olhes para trás,
Deixa os que partiram.
Enche os olhos de esperança
E não apenas de intenção
Canta uma canção de amor,
E não uma canção de guerras.
Não digas apenas que o dia virá
Traz esse dia,
Porque não é apenas um sonho.
E em todas as praças da cidade
Aclamem a paz.
Então cantem, cantem um canção pela paz
Não sussurrem uma oração
É melhor cantar uma canção pela paz
espalhada aos quatro ventos.

Poema de Yaakov Rotblit.

THE SONG FOR PEACE
Lyrics: Yaacov Rotblit
Music: Yair Rosenblum

Let the sun rise
light up the morning
The purest of prayers
will not bring us back

He whose candle was snuffed out
and was buried in the dust
bitter crying won't wake him up
and won't bring him back

Nobody will bring us back
from a dead and darkened pit
here,
neither the victory cheer
nor songs of praise will help

So just sing a song for peace
don't whisper a prayer
Just sing a song for peace
in a loud shout

Allow the sun to penetrate
through the flowers
don't look back
let go of those departed

Lift your eyes with hope
not through the rifles' sights
sing a song for love
and not for wars

Don't say the day will come
bring on that day -
because it is not a dream -
and in all the city squares
cheer only for peace!

by Ros Schwartz

2009 Nobel Peace Prize has awarded to Obama
Nobel da Paz 2009 atribuído a Barack Obama

Barack Obama«The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009 is to be awarded to President Barack Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. The Committee has attached special importance to Obama's vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons».

«It may be a new year, but the bloodshed in Gaza this past week is a clear reminder that there's no time to wait to protect human rights in 2009. ...

The U.S. government cannot continue this lop-sided blame on Hamas for the crisis. Ask Secretary Rice to urgently express deep concern about Israel's disproportional response and its policies which have brought the Gaza Strip to the brink of humanitarian disaster.» (from Amnesty International USA)
