E quem mais perto esteve do golo foi o Sporting...

O último dos clássicos para o Campeonato da época 2008/2009 disputou-se a seguir a uma eliminatória da Champions League. O Porto jogou na 4ª. fora com o Atlético de Madrid com um empate moralizador o Sporting foi goleado em casa frente ao Bayern (0-5).

O Porto liderava (e lidera) o campeonato e uma vitória eliminaria os visitanmtes da discussão e dava-lhhe confortável avanço sobre o Benfica (4 pontos). O Sporting aspirava a vencer para ficar a um ponto. Tudo isto na teoria. O jogo viria a demonstrar que às vezes a vontade não tem correspondência nas capacidades.

Na primeira parte coube ao Sporting as melhores oportunidades do jogo: Izmailov não aproveitou uma bola (mal) afastada pela defesa do Porto e atirou por cima da barra (23'). Dum cruzamento da direota de Pereirinha, Derlei ganhou no jogo alto e Liedson ao segundo poste atirou de cabeça ao poste. Aos 42' Liedson após falha no corte de Bruno Alves quiz desviar a bola de primeira mas fê-lo mal para fora. A primeira oportunidade do jogo fora para os portistas num pontapé de canto com remate de cabeça de Rodríguez e Pereirinha evitar o golo sobre a linha.

Os últimos minutos da primeira parte foram confusos com picardias e João Ferreira a não parecer capaz de segurar o jogo mas o intervalo acalmou as coisas.

Na segunda parte nem oportunidades existiram. Um jogo fraco de pouca dinâmica, de bola no pé curto, com os portistas mais inconformados, especialmente Cristian Rodriguez mas sem grande emoção. Os guarda-redes não fizeram uma defesa digna desse nomee por isso o zero a zero ajusta-se.

Com o fraco futebol da segunda parte até João Ferreira se equilibrou mas a amostragem do cartão amarelo a Cristian Rodriguez numa confusão aquando da marcação de um pontapé de canto vai dar que falar (o jogador fica afastado do jogo com o Leixões).

Eis como nasceu há 105 anos o clube que segundo o Guiness, é o clube do mundo com mais sócios, cerca de 170.000.

Em 28 de Fevereiro de 1904, fundou-se na Farmácia Franco, à Rua Direita de Belém, nº. 107, o Grupo Sport Lisboa.

Uff! Acabou...que alívio!

A imprensa deu grande destaque à possibilidade do Leixões bater um record de décadas: o de vencer em casa do Porto, do Sporting e do Benfica na mesma época. Porém a equipa matosinhense começou o jogo na expectativa e o Benfica apareceu anormalmente dominador no primeiro quarto de hora de jogo.

Na realidade a partir do golo de avanço - um autogolo depois de um cruzamento da esquerda de Reyes. Cardozo ao segundo poste esperava a bola, mas Elvis interpôs-se fazendo autogolo - a situação mudou. O Leixões avançou mais o Benfica recuou a linha de meio campo e o jogo equilibrou-se. Zé Manuel não dominou a bola num passe longo que o poderia ter isolado, Luisão na ressaca de um lance de bola parada, em pontapé de bicicleta esteve quase a fazer o 2-0.

Na segunda parte o jogo do Benfica mostrou a pouca capacidade de controlo de bola que tem manifestado, o Leixões começou a acreditar que podia empatar e teve uma semi-oportunidade quando após reposição de bola de Beto, Diogo Valente aparece a receber a bola por trás da defesa encarnada, mas descaído pela direita rematou torto.

Já após algumas mexidas (ver ficha do jogo abaixo) Cardozo isola-se domina mal e perde a oportunidade do 2-0; logo a seguir foi Cardozo que foi à lateral direita já perto da linha do fundo ganhar a Elvis para cruzar para Nuno Gomes antecipar-se e de cabeça facturar o suposto golo da tranquilidade. Não aconteceu assim, com as substituições esgotadas após o 2-0 com a entrada de Balboa (para quê?) e saída de Di Maria, Carlos Martins que já havia entrado para substituir Ruben Amorim (lesionado) ainda na primeira parte teve que sair deixando o Benfica em inferioridade numérica. Não demorou muito para o Leixões reduzir a diferença, defesa apática dos encarnados com tantos jogadores e ninguém a afastar a bola até que Balboa a coloca nos pés de Rodrigo Silva que aproveitou. Com mais de um quarto de hora por jogar, com mais um homem em campo e com o Benfica só com um médio defensivo e Aimar em dificuldades físicas, este golo ressuscitou o Leixões. Entrou Chumbinho para reforçar o ataque e até ao final foi um sufoco para os adeptos encarnados ainda que o Leixões não tenha criado uma oportunidade de golo para o 2-2.

Lucílio Batista foi condescendente nos amarelos perdoando-os a Diogo Valente e a Luisão (numa falta à entrada da área que nem sequer assinalou). Contestado na amostragem de um amarelo a Carlos Martins quando entrou em campo para substituir Ruben Amorim que já havia saído lesionado, nos últimos minutos a contestação foi dos leixonenses e com razão, nomeadamente pelo tempo de compensação exíguo - três minutos - que concedeu.

RUY de Moura Ribeiro BELO nasceu em Rio Maior (Ribatejo) a 27 de Fevereiro de 1933 e faleceu em Queluz a 8 de Agosto de 1978. Matriculou-se em Direito em Coimbra, mas concluiu a formatura em Lisboa (1956). Doutorou-se em Direito Canónico na universidade gregoriana de Roma (1958). Regressado a Lisboa, tirou o curso de Filologia Românica (1961/67). Em 1971, foi leitor de Português na universidade de Madrid. À data da morte, leccionava nos cursos nocturnos da escola técnica do Cacém, como professor provisório. Chegara a advogar e foi também tradutor e ensaísta: «Na Senda da Poeira» (1969). A sua poesia oferece-nos um discurso caudaloso de índole auto-reflexiva e experimentação formal. É uma complexa procura existencial, mais ontológica que religiosa, que conjuga uma ironia superior com a maestria linguística. O autor abandonara a Opus Dei e assumira uma posição política.

Estes belgas derrotados sem apelo nem agravo em Braga por 3-0 cedo demonstraram o que pretendiam. Uma grande agressividade, num ambiente de pressão por parte do público que encheu o estádio, consentida pelo árbitro islandês, futebol directo e por alto metendo vários jogadores na área nos lances da bola parada mesmo desde o meio-campo. O Braga teve de se mostrar concentrado mas, na realidade, os calafrios, na baliza de Eduardo nem foram muitos. Ficaram apenas vestígios da agressividade dos homens da casa, com César Peixoto a jogar de cabeça ligada por um golpe no sobrolho. Em termos de amarelos, porém, o resultado ao intervalo era de 1-3!

Na segunda parte viu-se mais futebol e curiosamente os belgas acabaram por criar várias oportunidades de golo. A inépcia dos avançados e o poste faziam manter o 0-0 que dava tranquilidade aos bracarenses, que, no entanto, não conseguiam ligar o seu futebol de ataque. Numa jogada com falhas sucessivas desde César Peixoto (terá havido falta?) no meio campo até um alívio defeituoso dum defesa, permitiram desta vez que Mbokani finalmente fizesse o primeiro golo dos belgas felizmente já em fase bastante avançada do jogo (79')para que existisse risco significativo para os bracarenses.

A equipa da casa ainda procurou o 2-0, mas o Braga demonstra maturidade e não quiz sair derrotada de Liege. Luís Aguiar do lado direito arrancou um remate de ângulo difícil mas vitorioso fazendo umexcelente golo que arrumou a questão; aliás, o Braga esteve perto de fazer o segundo golo também por Luís Aguiar solto na área a receber cruzamento da direita, mas aí Espinoza o guarda-redes que entrara no início da segunda parte fez a defesa.

O árbitro proveniente de um país sem grande expressão futebolística mas de porte atlético deixou jogar demasiado duro e aí a equipa portuguesa tem algumas razões de queixa,
